Despite a fine performance by first baseman Guillermo Velasquez, the Ocean City Blue Crabs suffered a 8-7 loss to the Asheville Moonshiners. Velasquez was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Steve Foster in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Scott Brow took the loss. Asheville has now won 3 straight, while the Blue Crabs have lost 3 in a row.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Derek Parks came to bat in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Ocean City pitcher Scott Brow, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Asheville on top, 8-7.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Parks told the Asheville Herald.
