5-4 Win Sends Danville to 36-19
|
Led by Rusty Greer, the Danville Dairy Daddies downed the Buffalo Bisons, 5-4. Greer went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times for the Dairy Daddies. Mark Thompson, who is rated as the 91st best prospect by BNN, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-3. Joe Borowski, who is rated as the 62nd best prospect by BNN, nailed down the save.
Greer had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count knuckleball from Dennis Springer, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Dairy Daddies a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Greer.
"We did enough to win," said Greer.
