Blue Crabs Lose, 6-3, at Ballpark of Fremont
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones trumped the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 6-3, at Ballpark of Fremont. Brooklyn first baseman Mike Marshall was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Rick Aguilera, credited with the win, is now 2-5. He allowed 3 runs on 9 hits in 8 innings. Earning his 10th save of the year was Jim Mecir.
Phil Nevin's at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning was a big one for Brooklyn. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Brooklyn leading 4-3, the catcher reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Marshall told the Brooklyn Bulletin. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
With the win, the Cyclones have a record of 29-28.
