Victory Pushes Moonshiners Record to 33-26
|
The Asheville Moonshiners beat the Milwaukee Otters, 7-4, at Stags Ballpark. The Moonshiners got a fine performance from right fielder Darren Bragg, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Masaki Saito earned the win for Asheville. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 4-6. Today's win puts Asheville at 33-26, while Milwaukee falls to 30-29.
Bragg's key contribution came in the top of the first when he sent a 1-2 fastball into right for a grand slam home run. It put the Moonshiners ahead, 5-0.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Bragg told the Asheville Daily News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
