Victory Over Swamp Foxes Takes Hartford to 40-18
The Hartford Whalers got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Rene Arocha, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-1 decision over the Savannah Swamp Foxes. Billy Wagner converted his 16th save in 17 tries. Hartford has now won 3 straight, while the Swamp Foxes have lost 3 in a row.

Making an impact for the home team was John Jaha. In the bottom of the eighth, the 29-year old first baseman had a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-1, Whalers.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Arocha.
