Blue Crabs Come Back Late to Clip Clippers
|
The Ocean City Blue Crabs took Columbus pitcher Chris Carpenter's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Mules Ballpark. The final score had Ocean City getting past the Clippers, 2-1. Carpenter went 9 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 8. Jamie Brewington went 8.2 innings for Ocean City to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 1 earned run. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record improves to 5-4. Ocean City now has a 3-game win streak.
The most important at-bat for Ocean City came in the top of the ninth inning, when first baseman Brad Fullmer stroked a 1-1 fastball to right for a 2-run home run, putting Ocean City up, 2-0.
