Velandia goes 4-for-4 as Suns Squeeze Past Savannah
The Jacksonville Suns beat the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 8-7, at Paradise Grounds. Jorge Velandia was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The 22-year old shortstop was a menace to Savannah all day. Mark Dewey converted his 10th save in 12 tries. Jacksonville is now 28-29.

Velandia had a game-changing single in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 changeup from Dustin Hermanson, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Suns a 8-7 lead. It was the 49th hit of the year for Velandia.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Velandia told the Jacksonville News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
