Myers Excels, But Clippers Win
Columbus and Hartford duked it out at Wolves Ballpark and the Clippers came out victorious.

The Hartford Whalers got a sterling performance from left fielder Rod Myers, but the Clippers still prevailed, 12-9. Myers was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The winner was John Wetteland in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Brady Raggio took the loss.

The result might have been different for Columbus, had it not been for Alberto T Castillo. The catcher produced a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Clippers ahead, 10-9. For the game, Castillo had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Castillo.

The Clippers, at 29-31, sit in 4th place in the Atlantic Northeast.
