Whalers Lose, 6-3, at Mules Ballpark

Columbus played host to Hartford at the friendly confines of Mules Ballpark.
Behind the bravura of left fielder Quinton McCracken, the Columbus Clippers topped the Hartford Whalers by the score of 6-3. McCracken was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Clippers. Anthony Young was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Doug Simons was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 13 save opportunities.
With Columbus leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, McCracken hit a changeup from Pat Rapp for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Clippers ahead, 3-0.

Columbus has now won 4 games in a row.
