Swamp Foxes Win at Asheville, 12-4
|
The Savannah Swamp Foxes stopped the Asheville Moonshiners, 12-4, at Torrance Grounds. The Swamp Foxes got a big game from Jon Zuber, who was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Jason Dickson earned the win to go to 7-2. He allowed 4 earned runs on 13 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. Savannah goes to 37-25. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
Savannah relied on the bat of Jack Howell to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Swamp Foxes ahead, 3-0. For the game, Howell had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Zuber told the Savannah Daily News.
