Suns Squelch Cyclones Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Suns faced a stiff challenge from Brooklyn pitcher Brian Barber, but persevered to claim a win at Ballpark of Fremont. The final score was 5-0. Barber went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Jacksonville now has a 4-game win streak.
Doug Mirabelli, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1995 draft, helped out the Jacksonville cause in the top of the sixth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the catcher was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I felt good up there," said Mirabelli. "I saw the ball well."
