Tight Tilt Goes to Mud Hens, 2-1
|
The Mud Hens grabbed a win, 2-1, at Stags Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Ocean City pitcher Eric Hetzel. Hetzel went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Larry Thomas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities. Even with the win, the Mud Hens have a dismal 21-42 record.
Toledo took a 1-0 lead on Jeff Peterek's 31st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Peterek hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ocean City pitcher Eric Hetzel shaking his head.
"I know we have our doubters," said Ocean City manager . "But I still have high hopes for this team."
