Manto Helps Suns Run Win Streak to 4
|
Behind the bravura of first baseman Jeff Manto, the Jacksonville Suns topped the Savannah Swamp Foxes by the score of 9-4. Manto hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Suns. Tony Fossas notched his 17th save in 17 chances. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Suns.
The Suns got a big at-bat from second baseman Kevin Stocker. For the game, Stocker went 1-4 with a walk. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Jacksonville a 2-1 lead.
In postgame comments to the Jacksonville Today, Stocker said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
