Bisons Clip Clippers in Tight Contest
|
The Buffalo Bisons electrified Aspinwall Grounds with a thrilling, walk-off win.
Bisons left fielder Gerald Williams put his stamp on his team's 7-5 win over the Columbus Clippers. Williams was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Buffalo in the contest. Brian Shouse picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Paul Byrd was tagged with the loss.
Williams had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 slider from Paul Byrd, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Bisons a 7-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Williams.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Williams, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Clippers, at 29-36, have lost 4 in a row.
