Royals Win at New York, 7-5
|
The Kansas City Royals picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, knocking off the New York Yankees, 7-5. Starting pitcher Denny Neagle played a key role in the triumph. The Yankees, now 3-14, continue their slow start.
It could have been a different outcome for Kansas City, had it not been for Tim Naehring, the top prospect . Naehring contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put Kansas City up, 7-1.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Naehring, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
