Slammers Rally For Late Win Over Mud Hens
|
Fans who gathered at Stags Ballpark saw a good contest between the Southeast Slammers and Toledo Mud Hens.
Southeast Slammers starter Scott Scudder pitched a strong game against the Toledo Mud Hens at Stags Ballpark, leading the Slammers to a 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Scudder, now 5-7. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Terry Mathews finished to wrap up his 1st save.
One of the stars of the game was Southeast shortstop Daisuke Yamashita. In the top of the ninth with two out, he got a curveball from Larry Thomas and hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3 in favor of the Slammers.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Scudder.
Southeast is in last place in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 29-42.
