Victory Pushes Suns Record to 37-33
|
The Jacksonville Suns got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Mike Morgan, but it was good enough for the club to take a 5-0 decision over the Columbus Clippers. Morgan went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 8-3. Mark Dewey, credited with the save, is now 12 for 14 in save opportunities.
The Suns picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Jacksonville manager .
The Clippers, at 32-38, have lost 4 in a row.
