Clippers Drop Another One
|
Jacksonville rode a good effort from starter Ryan Bowen to beat the Columbus Clippers at Field of the Running Rebels. The final score was 5-2. Bowen, now 6-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Clippers, at 32-39, have lost 5 straight games.
The Suns beat the Clippers with some clutch hitting. The double by Ozzie Timmons in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Timmons gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he came through with the big hit.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Timmons said.
