Cyclones Come Back Late to Top Otters
|
With center fielder Turner Ward leading the charge, the Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Milwaukee Otters, 12-10, at Stags Ballpark. Ward was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Steve Reed recorded the save for Brooklyn, his 2nd of the season. Even with the win, the Cyclones have a dismal 7-66 record.
It could have been a different outcome for Brooklyn, had it not been for Jed Hansen, the 24-year old second baseman . Hansen contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Brooklyn up, 9-7.
"Ugly win or not, we'll take it," said Ward.
