Chicago got a terrific game from center fielder Bob Brower. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Florida, 4-3. Brower was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Bryan Harvey closed the game out for Florida, earning his 7th save. Losses have been few and far between for the Cubs so far this season. Their record drops to 12-6.
Luis Castillo, who is tied for 9th in the FL in hits with 22, aided the Florida cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"This was a good win," said Castillo.
