Blue Crabs Continue Skid Thanks to Wehner, Whalers
|
The Hartford Whalers downed the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 13-6, at Wolves Ballpark. John Wehner led the way, going 4-for-5 for Hartford. Larry Luebbers, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-0. Ocean City has now lost 4 straight.
Eduardo Perez had a productive at-bat for the Whalers with two out in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, the left fielder hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Hartford win.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Whalers manager . "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
