Swamp Foxes Lose, 5-2, at Ravens Ballpark
|
Behind the bravura of shortstop Daisuke Yamashita, the Southeast Slammers topped the Savannah Swamp Foxes by the score of 5-2. Yamashita was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Slammers. Doug Johns got the win, improving to 5-3. He held the Swamp Foxes to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Terry Mathews converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
With the game tied, 0-0, in the bottom of the second, Yamashita had a key at-bat for Southeast. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Yamashita hit a 3-run home run off Ariel Prieto, making the score 3-0, Slammers.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Yamashita told the Southeast News.
The Swamp Foxes, now 32-40, have lost 10 in a row.
