The Columbus Clippers and Bluff City Beasties cranked it up at Ravens Ballpark.
Pat Watkins left his imprint on the 7-3 Bluff City win against the Columbus Clippers. Watkins, who is rated as the 76th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Bluff City reliever Mark Small picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Jamey Wright absorbed the loss. Brad Clontz, credited with the save, is now 8 for 8 in save opportunities.
Making an impact for the home team was Jeff Manto. In the bottom of the sixth, the 32-year old second baseman had a solo home run. That made the score 3-2, Beasties.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bluff City manager .
The Beasties move to 38-38 with the win, while the Clippers drop to 34-42.
