Fordyce Helps Whalers Run Win Streak to 6
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Brook Fordyce, the Hartford Whalers defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 6-2. Fordyce went 4-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Whalers. Jack Armstrong earned the win for Hartford. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 8-3. Hartford is now riding a 6-game win streak.

Fordyce contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Hartford in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Fordyce took a slider from Marvin Freeman and stroked the double to right. His 4th double of the season allowed the Whalers to leap in front, 2-1.
