Cyclones Get One-Run Win at Savannah
|
Brooklyn Cyclones starter Steve W Sparks turned in a sterling performance against the Savannah Swamp Foxes, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Jim Mecir was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 17 save opportunities. The Cyclones now have a record of 41-34.
Dwight Smith, who is tied for 7th in the ATL in runs scored with 58, aided the Brooklyn cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We found a way to get it done," Smith said.
