Suns Turn Back Buffalo, 9-7
|
Buffalo third baseman Robert Eenhoorn was sensational. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Jacksonville beat the Bisons, 9-7. Eenhoorn was named the player of the game despite the loss. Ricky Bones, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 8-6. Today's win puts Jacksonville at 42-35, while Buffalo falls to 48-29.
Sean Casey had a big 2-run single for the Suns in the top of the sixth inning. With Jacksonville leading 5-4 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from John H. Doherty and stroked the single to center. It was his 92nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Suns ahead, 7-4.
"I like our moxie," said Suns manager .
