The Columbus Clippers got a strong performance from pitcher Kirk McCaskill, who stymied the Danville offense en route to a 12-2 win at Mules Ballpark. McCaskill went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-8. The Clippers go to 36-44, putting them 4th in the Atlantic Northeast.

Chris Pritchett had a big run-scoring single for the Clippers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Columbus leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Scott Scudder and stroked the single to center. It was his 22nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Clippers ahead, 4-2.

"Enjoyed this one," McCaskill told the Columbus Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
