Moonshiners Get Road Win, 7-2
|
The Asheville Moonshiners topped the Jacksonville Suns, 7-2, in Atlantic action at Field of the Running Rebels. The player of the game was Asheville pitcher Ken Cloude. In 7.2 innings, Cloude surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Asheville is now riding a 3-game win streak.
It could have been a different outcome for Asheville, had it not been for Aaron Boone, the 24-year old third baseman . Boone contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put Asheville up, 2-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Boone.
