Slammers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bisons
The Slammers had to overcome a fine performance from Buffalo pitcher Jeff Suppan to grab a 5-4 win at Ravens Ballpark. Suppan allowed 1 earned run over 5.2 innings. The winner was Scott Sullivan in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Brian Shouse took the loss. The Slammers go to 35-48, putting them 5th in the Atlantic Southeast.

Gene Schall, the Southeast first baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to make the score 5-4, Slammers. For the game, Schall went 2 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I felt good up there," said Schall. "I saw the ball well."
