Cyclones Continue Skid Thanks to Valdes, Blue Crabs
|
The Ocean City Blue Crabs defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 10-6, at Fire Dogs Ballpark. Ocean City designated hitter Pedro Valdes was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Ariel Prieto was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Brooklyn's current losing streak has reached 9 games.
With Ocean City leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Valdes hit a changeup from Brian Barber for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Blue Crabs ahead, 4-0.
