Losing Streak Continues for Cyclones with 7-4 Loss to Blue Crabs
|
The Ocean City Blue Crabs bested the Brooklyn Cyclones by a score of 7-4, with first baseman Don Mattingly getting the main credit. On the day, Mattingly was 4-4 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Blue Crabs. Ocean City reliever Pep Harris picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Curt Lyons was saddled with the loss. The Cyclones, now 7-76, have lost 10 straight.
Mattingly came through with some timely hitting for Ocean City. With the score 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh and no one down, Mattingly hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season made it 4-3, Ocean City.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Mattingly told the Ocean City Observer.
