Red Wings Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Red Wings had to overcome a fine performance from Milwaukee pitcher Allen Watson to grab a 6-5 win at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Watson allowed 1 earned run over 5.1 innings. Rochester reliever Joe Ausanio picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Marc Pisciotta shouldered the loss. Rochester has now won 4 games in a row.
The Red Wings used some clutch hitting to beat the Otters, a good example being the at-bat of Darren Reed in the bottom of the 14th. With two down, Reed gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a walk-off solo home run.
"This game will make a man of you," said , the Rochester skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
