Beasties Fall to .500 After Loss to Dairy Daddies

Danville and Bluff City duked it out at Ravens Ballpark and the Dairy Daddies came out victorious.
The Danville Dairy Daddies picked up a win at Ravens Ballpark, knocking off the Bluff City Beasties, 5-2. Starting pitcher Scott Scudder was an essential part of his team's success. Scudder got the win, improving to 4-10. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Scudder allowed 2 earned runs. Felix Rodriguez converted his 5th save in 6 tries.
With runs few and far between, the Dairy Daddies had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Danville came in the top of the seventh inning, when designated hitter Shawn Gilbert delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Pat Combs and made the score 4-1, Dairy Daddies. Gilbert was 3 for 5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I thought we played a nice game," Scudder told the Danville Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Danville is now 39-51.
