Swamp Foxes Prevail, 9-7, Over Hartford
The Hartford Whalers got a superb performance from center fielder Ryan Thompson, but the Savannah Swamp Foxes still won the game, 9-7. Thompson was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Swamp Foxes sit in 4th place in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 42-49.

Savannah took a 9-7 lead on Terry Bradshaw's 97th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Bradshaw hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hartford pitcher Jeff Nelson visibly frustrated.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bradshaw said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
