Brooklyn and Ocean City duked it out at Fire Dogs Ballpark and the Cyclones came out victorious.

The Cyclones had to overcome a good performance from Ocean City pitcher Woody Williams to claim a 4-1 win at Fire Dogs Ballpark. Williams went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. Steve W Sparks got the win, improving to 13-3. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Jim Mecir converted his 15th save in 19 tries.

Brooklyn used the bat of Nelson Liriano to get the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Liriano.

The Cyclones now have a record of 45-45 with the win over Ocean City.
