Cubs Come Back Late to Top Marlins
|
Chicago Cubs starter Eric King was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Florida Marlins, 3-2. The Cubs, now 13-6, have been on a roll in the early going.
There were several reasons the Cubs beat the Marlins, but one factor was Trot Nixon. In the bottom of the eighth, the Chicago right fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Chicago manager Anthony Perez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
