Cyclones Snatch 4-3 Win
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones scored a 4-3 win versus the Jacksonville Suns at Field of the Running Rebels. Brooklyn pitcher Jim Mecir nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Brooklyn reliever Curt Lyons picked up the win, upping his record to 1-7. Clint Sodowsky was saddled with the loss. Jose Cabrera earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
The Brooklyn win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Jed Hansen. In the top of the seventh, the Brooklyn second baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run double. It staked his team to a 4-2 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Jacksonville manager .
Even with the win, the Cyclones have a dismal 8-86 record.
