Streaking Moonshiners Win Another One
|
The Asheville Moonshiners picked up a win at Paradise Grounds, knocking off the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 6-4. On the mound for Asheville was left-hander Matt Beech, who played a pivotal role in the win. Beech got the win, improving to 10-6. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Beech allowed 3 earned runs. Mike Draper converted his 19th save in 20 tries.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning. Facing Savannah hurler John Wasdin, Rikkert Faneyte hit a bases-clearing double. The Moonshiners went on to win.
"It's great to be on a roll," said Faneyte.
Savannah's current losing streak is now 5 games.
