Swamp Foxes Win at Bluff City, 7-2
|
Savannah starter Alan Benes pitched effectively against the Bluff City Beasties at Ravens Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 7-2 win. Benes picked up the win for Savannah, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-0. Jason Dickson earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Savannah used the timely hitting of Jimmy Hurst to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Swamp Foxes on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Hurst, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Swamp Foxes bumped their record to 53-43 with this latest triumph.
