The Asheville Moonshiners defeated the Danville Dairy Daddies, 4-3, in Atlantic action at Torrance Grounds, with Asheville pitcher Steve Karsay named player of the game. The win was credited to Ricardo Jordan in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jose DeLeon took the loss. Terry Mathews converted his 4th save in 6 tries.
Asheville grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases empty, Oreste Marrero delivered a solo home run, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Moonshiners.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Danville manager . "But we decided not to take it."
The Moonshiners own a robust 62-36 mark.
