Rockies Come Up Short at Baltimore
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Glenn Davis, the Colorado Rockies suffered a 5-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. Davis went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Baltimore reliever Julian Tavarez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Al Leiter took the loss. With the win, Baltimore boosts its record to 10-9.
Tied up with the Rockies in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Orioles got a boost from shortstop Alan Trammell. With a runner on 2nd, Trammell saw a 0-1 curveball from Brett Gideon and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Baltimore on top, 5-4.
"We did enough to win," said Trammell.
