Blue Crabs Win at Asheville, 7-3
|
The Ocean City Blue Crabs beat the Asheville Moonshiners, 7-3, at Torrance Grounds. Ocean City right fielder Junior Felix earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Chad Ogea, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 8-7. Getting the save was Ramon Morel, his 3rd.
The Blue Crabs got an important contribution from left fielder Curtis Pride, who in the top of the fifth knocked a 1-1 fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Blue Crabs ahead, 5-2.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Felix.
With the win, the Blue Crabs have a record of 52-49.
