Columbus pitcher Jamey Wright did his part in helping his team beat the Rochester Red Wings, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Columbus is 4th in the Atlantic Northeast with a record of 49-52.
Columbus first baseman Derrek Lee contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a 2-run double. It was his 19th double of the season and put the Clippers ahead, 4-0.
Lee called the triumph "a good team win."
