Danville third baseman Shawn Gilbert played a vital role in his team's 3-2 triumph over Brooklyn. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for Danville. The win was Jay Witasick's in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Curt Lyons took the loss for Brooklyn. Aaron Small, credited with the save, is now 1 for 4 in save opportunities.

Gilbert had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Curt Lyons, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Dairy Daddies a 3-2 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Gilbert.
