Blue Crabs Come Back Late, Nip Beasties
|
The Ocean City Blue Crabs grabbed a 6-5 win over the Bluff City Beasties at Ravens Ballpark. Ocean City first baseman Don Mattingly went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The winner was Rafael Carmona in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Ramon Pena took the loss. Ocean City bumps their record to 54-50 with the win.
Mattingly had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Ramon Pena, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Blue Crabs a 6-5 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Mattingly.
"It was a solid team effort," said Mattingly after the game.
