Moonshiners Bang Out 10-3 Win Versus Columbus
|
Asheville starter Willie Banks pitched effectively against the Columbus Clippers at Torrance Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 10-3 win. Banks went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 10. His record improves to 5-4. The Moonshiners, now 69-38, have won 5 in a row.
One consequential at-bat came in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Yamil Benitez, hit a run-scoring triple. It made the score 1-0, Asheville, and helped them go on to win.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Benitez.
