The Southeast Slammers defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 8-6, at Torrance Grounds. Southeast designated hitter Mike Busch was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jim Corsi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 6 save opportunities. Southeast now sits in third place in the Atlantic Southeast at 60-46.

The Slammers grabbed the lead in the top of the third. With two out, Troy Neel hit a 2-run home run off Matt Beech, putting Southeast in front, 3-0. For Neel, it was his 23rd home run of the season.

Neel called the triumph "a good team win."
