Blue Crabs Roll Over Whalers, 9-2

Behind a solid performance from shortstop Freddy F Garcia, the Ocean City Blue Crabs defeated the Hartford Whalers, 9-2. Garcia went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Blue Crabs. Dave Mlicki earned the win for Ocean City. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 6-10. Ocean City is last in the Atlantic Southeast with a record of 49-57.
Manny Alexander, who is tied for 3rd in the ATL in stolen bases with 15, helped out the Ocean City cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We did a lot of things right," said Alexander.
