The Ocean City Blue Crabs and Hartford Whalers cranked it up at Fire Dogs Ballpark.
The Hartford Whalers topped the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 6-3, in Atlantic action at Fire Dogs Ballpark. The player of the game was Hartford pitcher Jack Armstrong. Billy Wagner was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 31 save opportunities.
One consequential at-bat came in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, the batter, Jerome Walton, hit a bases-clearing double. It made the score 5-3, Hartford, and helped them go on to win.
Walton said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.
The Whalers have an impressive 72-34 record.
