Kurt Abbott had a 4-RBI game, during Hartford's 8-6 triumph over the Ocean City. Abbott contributed 2 singles and 1 home run to the cause. Hartford reliever Brad Cornett was credited with the win, to go to 2-4. Karl Best took the loss for Ocean City. The Whalers bumped their record to 55-52 with this latest triumph.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when third baseman Josh Booty got hit by a pitch. The Whalers went on to win.

In postgame comments to the Hartford Herald, Booty said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
