Big Day with Bat: Marsh 5-for-5
|
It seemed that Milwaukee left fielder Tom Marsh could do no wrong as the Otters KO'd the Red Wings, 7-1 today. Marsh rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Red Wings hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Otters were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Rochester fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Marsh in the postgame press interview.
Tom Marsh singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This season Marsh is swinging the bat at a .318 rate with 74 hits in 233 at-bats. To date he has hit 3 home runs, scored 31 runs and driven in 32.
