Red Wings Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Red Wings had to overcome a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Jeff Peterek to grab a narrow 6-5 win at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Peterek went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rochester reliever Joe Ausanio picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Brent Knackert absorbed the loss. Even with the win, the Red Wings have a dismal 23-84 record.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Rochester center fielder Troy O'Leary, facing Brent Knackert, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Red Wings the 6-5 win.
"I like our resilience," said O'Leary.
