Otters Win at Brooklyn, 6-2
|
Milwaukee right-hander Willie Blair pitched his team to victory over the Brooklyn Cyclones at Ballpark of Fremont. The final score was 6-2. Blair, now 15-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Milwaukee currently is in third place in the Atlantic Northeast at 52-55.
Milwaukee used the bat of Joe Vitiello to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Otters ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I thought we played a nice game," Vitiello told the Milwaukee Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
